Finding a Volunteering Opportunity

Looking to volunteer with kids, or do you prefer working with the environment? Are you passionate about social justice or just looking for a way to give back over the weekend? Whatever you desire, visit our programs page to see our student-created, student-run volunteering opportunities with community organisations. Or, engage with the wider community directly. If you're still stuck or you are looking for something specific or related to your area of study - come chat to us.

You can also keep an eye on what's out there through our Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, our Newsletter, Guild Weekly, and our on-campus events.

Creating a Volunteer Opportunity

Guild Volunteering is excited to work with students who want to help out non-profits by creating a volunteer program. Once a year we run the Program Directors course where you can gain the skills and confidence necessary to create your own program by partnering up with a local Community Organisation to develop a program or take over an existing program that involves UWA student volunteers.

We're also excited to work with Club and Faculty Society representatives who may be keen to start up a volunteering program. Contact us if you'd like to know more about starting a volunteering program.

Insurance, Working With Children Checks, and Police Clearances

Getting in to volunteering should be as not-boring as possible. We're here to handle the boring administrative stuff. When you volunteer with an organisation through Guild Volunteering, know that you're protected by our insurances. We can also sort out Working with Children Checks and Police Clearances in-house, and we'll subsidise the cost. You don't even have to be volunteering with one of our programs - just come tell us about your feats of goodness and we'll happily support you.

Room Bookings

Guild Volunteering's front office is available for students involved in organising activities that promote or create nice things. The office comfortably seats eight and has facilities for presentations. When the room isn't booked, you're welcome to come and use the space to chill out or study. The office can also be booked after office hours so you can plot how to save the world under the cover of darkness. To book the room, email or visit us.
